Fairgrounds St. Pete, Tampa Bay’s premier immersive indoor art and technology museum, is expanding its footprint with a new pop-up art installation called Shrimpfinity by MILAGROS Collective. Shrimpfinity is a fully immersive shrimp-themed installation featuring intricate hand-painted designs, projected animations, a 6-foot-tall shrimp cocktail sculpture, a shrimp disco ball, and more, all set to an original soundtrack. Shrimpfinity opens to the public on Friday, April 28, 2023.
Guests will find themselves transported to a surreal world that’s been “shrimpified” in a memorable and visually striking juxtaposition of surreal shrimp sculptures – playing with scale and context to create a sense of wonder and whimsy. As visitors explore this fantastical shrimp-themed wonderland, they’ll be immersed in a sea of pink hues while discovering countless shrimp, adding to the overall sense of silly delight.
MILAGROS Collective co-founders, Felici Asteinza and Joey Fillastre, are known for their striking site-specific works that showcase bright radial patterns while melting into the surrounding architecture. The interactive installation was created with the help of a cast of collaborators, with each individual piece painstakingly made by hand.

Felici Asteinza, co-founder of MILAGROS Collective added, “We love taking unconventional spaces and building off of the unique vibes that already exist thereby amplifying the feeling of the existing space, we’re often able to create a completely new and vibrant atmosphere.”
Located in a new area within Fairgrounds St. Pete, this limited-time experience represents the first large expansion since its opening in 2021.
“Expanding into a previously unused section of our building, Shrimpfinity is a unique addition to Fairgrounds St. Pete that provides audiences the opportunity to experience something completely new,” said Liz Dimmitt, Fairgrounds St. Pete CEO and Co-Founder. “It’s an honor to provide a platform for more Florida-born artists to tell their own weird, wacky, wonderful Florida stories at Fairgrounds St. Pete.”
