Thank you Chris Parks for chatting with us about your practice! We are big fans!
Chris is a St. Pete based artist whose art practice reflects “his intense curiosity and a relentless quest for deeper meaning and self-discovery.” His work reflects his spiritual practice and “ever-expanding love for sacred art, mystical scriptures, ancient cultures, plant medicine ceremonies, world mythology and travel.” Known for ornate murals and painterly details, Chris’ practice bridges the gap between East and West and “are created to captivate the imagination and remind the viewer to connect with the ineffable spirit of infinite Bliss and Oneness that lies just behind the fringe of the thinking mind.”
Fun fact, Chris was the first artist we collaborated with and we cannot wait to see his room sized installation come to life.
Palehorse challenges the viewer to go beyond the surface and look within for a deeper understanding of themselves through each of his creations. Over the course of his 18 year career, he has used his personal spiritual practice to tap into cosmic forces of the universe to inform his work in a way that transcends the busy world we all inhabit. Witnessing Palehorse’s art is a journey of self-discovery no matter it’s location. His installation for Fairgrounds, Temple of Cosmic Balance, is no different and intended to be a sacred space for viewers.
