Fairgrounds St. Pete is an immersive arts and technology exhibit in South St. Pete, Florida. We are a ticketed arts, play, and technology destination providing immersive art experiences and educational programming, while supporting creative communities and technical innovation.

Our 15,000 ft2 artist-made environment is a choose-your-own-experience museum with multiple ways for you to become part of the narrative. We’re Tampa Bay’s first destination for experiencing immersive art and technology that highlights weird, wacky, wonderful Florida.

Artist Collaboration
Our initial call for artists is closed. The initial call was announced in April, 2020. Future calls will be announced to our VIP Insiders Club Members. Join Fairgrounds Insiders Club to receive first notice of open calls.
Internship Opportunities
Fairgrounds St. Pete is open for internship opportunities for those in Tampa Bay. Typical internships are 3 months in length with the intention of teaching relevant work-force skills through experiential arts, technology and education projects.
Please note that participating in a Fairgrounds St. Pete Internship does in no way guarantee a full-time position at Fairgrounds St. Pete. Our internships opportunities are part-time and based in our St. Pete, FL headquarters.

Marketing & Collaborations Coordinator

The Marketing & Collaborations Coordinator role presents an opportunity to grow with our dynamic team.
Position Overview
In this full-time role, you will support Fairgrounds St. Pete and work directly with the Chief Marketing Officer in communicating the brand and public relations by telling the story of Fairgrounds St. Pete in order to drive engagement, ticket sales and revenue through communications and relationships with our collaborators.
You will serve as a valued partner of our team to assist in the development of communications to help keep artists and the community informed, inspired, and connected to the mission and our common values through digital content including the company website, social media, email, and advertisements.
In this role you will support communications with a group of 60-80 collaborators, such as artists and designers, with duties including scheduling, procuring merchandise, communications, process documentation, administration, budgeting and studio visits.
The Marketing & Collaborations Coordinator will write, develop, edit and publish content and digital media advertising, copy and visuals for a variety of digital platforms, including social media, the company website, blogs, videos, email marketing campaigns, advertising campaigns as well as be able to measure and report on the success of such campaigns.
This role will be instrumental in helping Fairgrounds St. Pete gain exposure and leads through organic reach, digital advertising and earned media.
Responsibilities – Digital Marketing
- Increase awareness and create strategies for Fairgrounds St. Pete to establish the destination as a “must see” attraction in Florida and St. Pete
- Oversee ad strategies increasing ticket sales through social media strategies including: updating communications materials, creating compelling vertical videos, updating Google My Business listings and Ticket site, blogging, sending email campaigns, and running ads
- Manage media opportunities, provide partnering media with necessary information and resources, facilitate interviews and filmings, and ensure support for onsite media as needed
- Work with social media and digital marketing team on content generation, editorial planning, and distribution
- Identify and solicit businesses collaborations that drive ticket sales
- Support onsite and remote events and media efforts
- Update the company website with any pertinent public communication
- Oversee special projects as needed with responsibilities that may include administrative tasks pertaining to marketing and collaborations
Responsibilities – Collaboration
- Serve as liaison between management and artists, collaborators, contractors, vendors, media outlets to support the execution and promotion of artworks and exhibits
- Create materials such as presentation decks, one pagers, storyboards and schematics to clearly and evocatively communicate opportunities to artists and collaborators
- Implement, oversee and assess artist-collaborator commissioning policies and procedures
- Support operations team in communications with artists and collaborators on maintenance of artwork(s) on view
- Support and oversee the artist-commissioning process, communications, and future open-calls for artists
- Implement, assess, and oversee policies and procedures related to artist merchandising to secure merchandise licensing and wholesale agreements and determine their marketability
- Update the souvenir shop website to ensure all language and visuals align to the Fairgrounds St. Pete brand
- Work with Fairgrounds St. Pete leadership and coordinate with artists and collaborators in order to determine the marketing, PR, social media and launch strategy of Fairgrounds St. Pete and how each artist fits within the plan
- Document and archive artist and production projects
- Assist in maintaining the CRM system (Nethunt) for artists, vendors, suppliers, and community contacts
Requirements
- Digital Media content creation and advertising experience with TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, Google, Pinterest
- Exceptional communication skills: verbal, written and presentation
- Design skills and experience in: Adobe Suite and Google Workspace, Canva/Adobe Spark, iMovie/Premiere, WordPress
- Proven experience in content creation and content marketing in social media and brand strategy
- Excellent analytical and problem solving abilities
- Experience with copywriting for digital marketing
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team on tight deadlines, with attention to detail under pressure
- Ability to follow and expand on the Fairgrounds St. Pete brand direction, vision, and branding guidelines (colors, fonts, copy, messaging, etc.)

Exhibit Maintenance Technician
About Fairgrounds St. Pete
Fairgrounds St. Pete designs immersive experiences and collaborates with artists to create installations that transport audiences into explorable worlds of art, play and joy. As an interdisciplinary art and technology company Fairgrounds values authentic, high-quality, craft experiences that push the boundaries of immersive art and experiential storytelling using mixed-media, scenic and technological elements.
Position Overview
Fairgrounds St. Pete seeks a multidisciplinary craftsperson, with strong technical/craft abilities, to join our team as an Exhibit Maintenance Technician. In this role you are responsible for maintaining and repairing a broad range of bespoke/artist-made art installations, as well as scenic elements and interactive props. In addition, you will have to work hands on with video, audio, lighting and show control systems. Day-to-day activities vary greatly and include: carrying out exhibit maintenance schedules; repairing and touching up scenic and sculptural elements; wiring and debugging electronics; accessing computer operating systems used for configuration, monitoring and control; and maintaining shop and component inventories. When problems arise you methodically track and document issues while coordinating with different parties to work out the best solution before implementing a fix. The successful candidate is a self-directed learner with strong communication, organizational and technical skills. An ideal candidate is also passionate about learning new craft skills and technologies that underpin innovative experiences and bringing the creative vision of artists to life through immersive art and storytelling.
Responsibilities
- Develop a comprehensive knowledge of all exhibits, scenic elements and exhibit systems
- Maintain and repair exhibits, including structural, scenic, electrical, AV/lighting and show control systems
- Troubleshoot exhibits and related equipment in order to identify problems and develop solutions
- Identify specialty repair jobs, and coordinate with team members or trade of expertise to ensure proper completion
- Interpret specifications, schematics and diagrams and construct layouts and reference points for workers
- Support daily technical operations of the exhibit and maintain operations logs
- Produce schedules and timelines for conducting closed-day/after-hour repairs and upgrades
- Perform routine preventative maintenance to ensure exhibits run smoothly and stay in top condition
- Maintain a maintenance inventory, specify and order materials/supplies as needed
- Contribute to standard operating procedures (SOPs) to improve quality and efficiency of maintaining exhibits over time
- Self-learn new skills, tools, techniques and software to tackle new challenges as they arise
- Work closely with a dedicated team to uphold Fairground’s commitment to creating high quality experiences through material craft and artistry
Requirements
- 1 to 3+ years experience in a related field
- Strong general knowledge of wiring, power supplies, controllers, projectors, video monitors, audio equipment, lighting fixtures, and how these elements work together to create an interactive, immersive experience
- Experience repairing physical/scenic elements and infrastructure—woodwork, metal, painting, fastening, patching, gluing, wiring, soldering, etc
- Experience with electrical diagnostic tools—ohm meters and voltage testers
- Extensive hand and power tool experience
- Commitment to working in a safe and efficient manner, especially when working with electricity, on ladders or at heights
- Ability to safely mount A/V components from trusses at ceiling height
- Ability to cleanly manage and route cabling in-ceiling with attention to service loops and cable strain relief
- Position or moving of objects up to 75lbs; ability to lift 40lbs overhead
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail in technical record keeping

Guest Experience Guide – Part Time
Fairgrounds St. Pete seeks an upbeat, enthusiastic and energetic customer-focused individual to join our Guest Experience team. In this position, you will make all guests feel welcome and help meet their needs throughout their Fairgrounds St. Pete journey. You will perform entry-level duties that include customer service, maintenance and retail store functions. All Guest Experience Guides will be cross-trained to work in various areas throughout Fairgrounds, but will focus on a particular task during their shift. The ideal candidate is passionate about engaging with the public to provide remarkable experiences at Tampa Bay’s first destination for experiencing immersive art and technology. Responsibilities
- Consistently offer a professional, friendly greetings and engaging customer service to all visitors and guests
- Maintain a positive attitude towards Guests, Co-Workers and the leadership team

- Ensure the safety of all guests, keep Fairgrounds clear of hazards

Requirements
