Fairgrounds St. Pete is an immersive arts and technology exhibit in South St. Pete, Florida. We are a ticketed arts, play, and technology destination providing immersive art experiences and educational programming, while supporting creative communities and technical innovation.
Fairgrounds invites visitora to escape reality and explore our interactive story-driven installations by engaging in a world of art, play, joy, and discovery!
Our 15,000 ft2 artist-made environment is a choose-your-own-adventure experience with multiple ways for you to become part of the narrative. Fairgrounds St. Pete will open in 2021 and is Tampa Bayβs first destination for experiencing immersive art and technology that highlights weird, wacky, wonderful Florida.

Internship Opportunities
Fairgrounds is open for internship opportunities for those in Tampa Bay. Typical internships are 3 months in length with the intention of teaching relevant work-force skills through experiential arts, technology and education projects.
Please note that participating in a Fairgrounds Internship does in no way guarantee a full-time position at Fairgrounds. Our internships opportunities are part-time and based in our St. Petersburg, FL headquarters.

Assistant Experience Manager
Fairgrounds St. Pete is seeking an upbeat, energetic, and enthusiastic, customer-focused individual to join our team! In this position, you will work alongside the Experience Manager supporting the entire experience operation. In this position, you will supervise and participate in the day-to-day operation of the Fairgrounds St. Pete immersive experience while focusing on maximizing the guest experience. The ideal candidate is passionate about engaging with guests to provide positive remarkable and memorable experiences. With previous experience in supervising/managing retail, quick service restaurants, museums, live event or theme park operations this person is excited to join the team and support Tampa Bayβs first destination for experiencing immersive art and technology that highlights weird, wacky, wonderful Florida.
Responsibilities
- Provides excellent customer service to all patrons and business partners.
- Resolves customer issues in a courteous, timely and efficient manner to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Assists Experience Manager with the recruitment, retention, supervision and development of a talented team.
- Facilitates training of new staff members and ambassadors
- Ensures the facility and scenic components are well maintained and fully functional at all times
- Manages and oversees crowd control and flow of the experience.
- Creates the weekly schedule and daily rotation of all ambassadors.
- Takes responsibility in absence of the Experience Manager overseeing daily operations, opening/closing, and ensuring technical and staff resources are met.
- Supervises team members to include scheduling, time-keeping, training (new hire and ongoing) and ensures team members adhere to standard operating procedures.
- Ensures that all special events are executed properly to Fairgrounds St. Pete standards.
- Tracks attendance and coordinates shift coverage for call-outs.
Requirements
- 2 years or more in a supervisory role in a museum, retail, arts, live event, and/or hospitality setting

Assistant Retail & Ticketing Manager
Fairgrounds St. Pete is seeking an upbeat, customer-focused individual to join our team. In this position you will work alongside the Experience Manager supporting the Fairgrounds St. Pete Shop and box office operation. You will also supervise and participate in the day-to-day operations of The Shop while focusing on maximizing retail potential. In addition, you will supervise the box office ensuring the check-in and ticket purchasing process is smooth and efficient. The ideal candidate is passionate about engaging with guests to provide remarkable experiences, with previous involvement in supervising/managing retail, quick service restaurants, museums, live event or theme park operations. Responsibilities

- Keeps the inventory and stockroom organized by receiving, transferring, packing, stocking and ticketing merchandise.

Sound Technician (Temporary Contract)
Fairgrounds is seeking a dynamic go-getter, ready to dive into fun and challenging creative projects already underway for our inaugural exhibition opening in 2021.
In the role of Sound Technician you will work with our in house sound design, production, exhibit and technology teams to set up, test, maintain and operate sound equipment that supports immersive art and narrative exhibits.
You are a smart and professional team player, with an eye on quality, and appreciation of hands-on work. You feel confident jumping into a fast-paced startup environment, learning quickly and adding structure and processes as needed to bring designs to life. A successful candidate will have strong visual, verbal and written communication skills, with prior experience working on creative & technical productions at scale. The ideal candidate is also passionate about building innovative experiences and bringing the creative vision of our artists to life through immersive art and storytelling.
Responsibilities
- Install, and maintain equipment, troubleshoot issues and solve problems
- Adjusting and testing equipment and sound levels
- Drive high quality standard for audio through the experience
- Work with the technology and design team to support the vision and direction of the experience and artists
- Maintain inventory and equipment documentation
- Build relationships and manage asset workflow with the rest of the team artists, and internal/external sound vendors

Lighting Technician (Temporary Contract)

- Drive a high quality standard for lighting/video throughout the experience
- Maintain lighting/video inventory in safe working order and equipment documentation
